Boards and commissions in San Antonio, Texas
San Antonio, Texas runs on 104 boards and commissions whose seats are held by residents who applied. This is the list Rallybase has read from the city's own register, read on 2026-08-28, and what the city does and does not publish about it.
San Antonio publishes a seat-level roster of its boards and commissions on the City Clerk's portal: one row per seat, naming the seat (District 1, Mayoral, At Large) and holding either the member and their appointment expiry or the word "Vacancy". Read 2026-08-28: 772 seats across 75 boards, of which 114 seats on 36 boards are vacant. CORRECTION, and it matters more than the figures: this row previously said San Antonio "never says how many seats are open". That was false and had been live since 2026-08-28. It was written from the city's SASpeakUp hub, which tags each board with a has-a-vacancy flag that read false on all 102 boards — while the Clerk's roster showed five vacancies on the very first of them. We held the roster's URL on every board row as its application link and did not open it. The 102-board list still comes from the SASpeakUp hub at sa.gov/Government/Agendas, and that list is NOT complete either: the Clerk portal publishes bodies the hub omits. Note also that the city lists bodies it does not govern beside its own commissions — the Bexar Appraisal District, Bexar Metro 911, the CPS Energy Board, the Port Authority and Opportunity Home among them — so this is what San Antonio lists, not only what San Antonio governs.

What Rallybase does not know here
- How many seats 29 of these 104 boards have.
- Who appoints to each body — the mayor, the council, a district member, or a mix.
- When or where any of them meets. The city publishes that per board; we have not read it.
- How long a term runs.
- Who currently sits on any of them. Rallybase holds no membership roster for this city.
- Which of these bodies is still standing. The city's register lists committees whose work is finished beside commissions that meet every month, and we hold no field marking which is which.
